Hummus is a creamy, flavorful Middle Eastern dip made from chickpeas, tahini, lemon, and garlic. It's perfect for dipping, spreading, or adding to meals!
Ingredients:
1 can (15 oz) chickpeas (drained and rinsed) or 1 ½ cups cooked chickpeas
3 tbsp tahini (sesame paste)
2 tbsp olive oil (plus more for garnish)
2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
1 clove garlic (minced)
1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
1/2 tsp cumin (optional, for extra flavor)
2–4 tbsp water (for desired consistency)
1/2 tsp paprika (for garnish)
Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)
Instructions:
1️⃣ Blend the Base:
In a food processor, combine chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and cumin.
2️⃣ Adjust Consistency:
Blend until smooth, adding water (1 tbsp at a time) until creamy.
3️⃣ Taste & Adjust:
Adjust salt, lemon, or garlic as needed. Blend again.
4️⃣ Serve & Garnish:
Transfer to a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle paprika & parsley on top.
5️⃣ Enjoy!
Serve with pita bread, veggies, crackers, or as a sandwich spread.
Hummus Variations:
✅ Spicy Hummus – Add ½ tsp cayenne or 1 tbsp harissa.
